The ICT4COP Research Project studies community-policing and police reform in a number of post-conflict settings and contexts.
Understanding human security is at the core of this project. Community-based policing holds promise but also entails challenges while conventional forms of top-down institutional reform fail to be effective.
The project is organized around regional cases and crosscutting themes, but above all, a set of common research questions and issues inform all efforts in all work packages.
Key issues and questions:
- Human security
- Security sector reform in post-conflict contexts
- Community-oriented policing
- Police training and education
- Technology development
- Methodology and Comparative Analysis
